Loves to explore and play friendly games, wise and loyal, almost too loyal to a fault. Will do anything to stay in the meadow with all her friends (see back story below) Back story: Lily used to be a pampered house cat who had bows put on her ears and little bells tied to little necklaces around her fuzzy neck. It actually wasn't a bad life, with plenty of food and caring owners, nothing could top that life of luxury, far away from the thick forest full of predators in the shadows. One day, her owners started packing their weird human things in these big boxes, and while in the middle of doing so, forgot to feed Lily. She got really impatient and walked over to the lead male of the house, and started meowing and walking in circles. The lead male hissed something at her, and shooed her away. How did that happen? Her humans never acted like that! She went over to the female, and did the same thing. The female looked at her strangely, like she didn't know who she was. After a few seconds of staring, she turned around and went back to packing. These people were getting really frustrating! She walked over to the bog doorway where all the food was stored and started nudging the door slowly open. Once the door was wide open enough for her to slip through, she started clawing at the bag, slowly but surely pulling it out of the doorway. She slashed at the top of the bag, making cat food spill out. She sat up and yowled loudly to get her people's attention. The people came around the corner and groaned at the mess of food she had made. Lily smiled to herself. Finally, her owners realized she needed food! The people picked up the bag of cat food and wrinkled the top to form a crease over the hole. Lily meowed and started walking circles around the spilled cat food, growing very impatient. If the humans wouldn't give her her food, she would just help herself. She bent down and licked up the delicious little pebbles, savoring the flavor of it. Who needs birds and mice when you've got this? She got up and walked over to the window, jumping on the window sill. She sat down and curled her tail around her paws, looking pleased. Suddenly, a small butterfly fluttered past the window, flapping it's wings frantically. Was it hurt? Lily went out to investigate. She squeezed through the cat flap in the back door and turned the corner of the house to see the butterfly resting on a lily. What a coincidence, as her name was Lily. She crouched down to inspect the butterfly, focusing on it's wings. The delicate shape was twisted and bent, and even the good wing was slightly crooked at angle. The poor thing, who could've done this to a small creature like a butterfly? Lily gently reached out her muzzle slowly, resting it right in front of the flower to see if the butterfly would come any closer. The butterfly was shaking wildly, and slowly started to back off from Lily's face. Lily moved back some more. The butterfly stepped back to it's original place and looked curiously at her. Lily blinked slowly and the butterfly hopped over onto her nose. Lily lifted her muzzle quickly, but not too quickly that the butterfly would fall off. She padded over to the fence and jumped to the top. She looked back at the house and thought about what crazy thing she was going to do. Oh well. Lily jumped over the side and steadied herself as the butterfly rocked forth and almost tumbled off. Lily quietly started padding into the small woods, looking around cautiously for any sign of danger. She continued to trek through the bushes and undergrowth, until she arrived at a clear and open meadow filled with flowers and insects. This was the place where the butterfly had come from, surely. She nestled down on the soft grass and connected her muzzle with another lily. The butterfly hopped off and faced her. She smiled back. The butterfly flapped her wings and faced the other way, directing her wings as if pointing somewhere in the meadow. Lily looked up to where the butterfly was pointing, and gasped at the sight. The sun was high in the sky and bunnies dashed across the field, chasing each other like you would in tag. Bees floated onto all sorts of varieties of flowers, pollen forming on their fuzzy coats. Grasshoppers and butterflies danced around the grass, the grasshoppers singing and the butterflies performing graceful acrobatics. Does and their fawns grazed peacefully at the softest patches of grass, seeming to be in their own world. Birds of all sorts glided through the air, the tips of their wings brushing the low and fluffy clouds. The meadow was nothing like Lily had ever dreamed of, the freedom, the beauty, and the harmony of all the living organisms in this habitat. There seemed to be no predator or prey, yet all the animals had filled stomachs and high spirits. Lily's butterfly friend drifted over to the partying insects, and gestured with her antennae towards the small group. Lily got up and padded over to the insects, careful not to step on any others. Her butterfly friend, who she decided to name Chloe, landed beside a slightly larger butterfly with sea foam wings, with splashes of white and dark aqua. Chloe pointed towards Lily and made a series of noises. The larger butterfly nodded and flapped his wings twice. The other butterflies seemed to finally seep out of their paradise and realize that there was a much bigger thing in their presence. The grasshoppers glanced upon Lily and started to make anxious chirps. The butterflies flapped their wings nervously, staring up at Lily with frightful eyes. She sat down, careful not to disturb any bugs underneath her. She looked around at the gathering crowd of bugs and insects as they formed a large circle around her, Chloe, and the butterfly that Chloe had communicated with. The larger animals, such as the deer and rabbits, gazed at her curiously, showing no sign of fear or dread. Even a few fish poked their heads out of the ponds for a few seconds, before going back under the water to do something more interesting. The animals seemed to murmur among each other, the whispering creating a flowing and smooth sound. Lily looked around, feeling awestruck at all the sight of all of the animals. Chloe faced Lily after discussing her arrival with the other butterflies. The butterflies approached her and bent their heads down, as if saying thank you. Lily nodded back at them. The butterflies turned and fluttered their wings loudly to the other animals. The animals walked forward towards Lily slowly. She smiled nervously. What would the animals think of her? A tiny fawn stumbled up to her and stared at her with eyes big as an owl's. Her mother doe walked over and stood beside her fawn, nudging it forward a little bit. The fawn gazed back at the doe and looked back to Lily. Lily blinked slowly and let the little deer come closer. The fawn stood on weak legs and started to circle her shakily, blinking quickly and occasionally sniffing. She inched forward a bit more, then nudged Lily's side. Lily smiled at the fawn, and it walked back to it's mother. The doe looked at Lily and bowed her head, backing off with her fawn staggering back, too. The animals all smiled to each other, knowing that Lily was not an enemy. Lily welled with happiness, feeling a comforting and warm emotion fill her that she had never felt before, not even at her owner's house. She scrambled to her paws and stretched. She bounded out into the meadow, letting the grass whip past her and the wind rushing through her long fur. She looked back at the animals all racing after her, chattering with excited noise. She smiled wide and sprinted harder, heart pumping rapidly. She didn't belong cooped up inside a lousy lump of bricks and hard floors. The meadow had been calling to her the whole time, it's lulling sound finally grabbing her. She was where she belonged.
