I meant to tell this after my 2-month long break but holy moldy bread I forgot. I might've told a few people bits and pieces of this story, but y'all need the full package. So this all took place last year. I had an introduction art class. No big deal, right? I remember always ((pfft, "always")) getting an A in art, so this wouldn't be too difficult, right? Nope, I was horribly wrong. To start off, this teacher was strange. She had a lot of made-up sayings and words for different things, but that was the least of it. She changed the way she graded assignments. First, she'd grade them and hand them back, but eventually she would spend weeks without grading a thing or handing back art, and even gave us students rubrics to grade our work OURSELVES. But what was worse was HOW she graded us. Everyone has different art styles, skill levels, and perspectives. Keep in mind, this was more of a beginners art class. But did she consider these factors? Nope. She graded on how much your art looked like her "example piece". Yes, you obviously ((wow Snape quotes everywhere)) should try and make your work look right, but the teacher doesn't have the right to completely overlook each person's individual pieces. Possibly the worst thing that happened in the class was our last final assessment. This was worth a lot of our grades, but our teacher decided to give us our final project THREE DAYS before school got out. Three. Days. To do two separate drawings with oil pastels and different shading methods and whatnot. Guess what I did? I took mine home, went out and had to BUY OIL PASTELS, go back home, finish the project, turn it in on the LAST day of school, and after I worked my hand to the point that it may as well have fallen off, I got a C on the final and as a final grade in the class. I wanted to flip some tables. That was the lowest grade I had ever received in an art class. I could go on about this lady forever, especially about how she made me sit next to a guy who was literally as intelligent as a rock ((no, that's offensive to rocks)), a guy who couldn't go one day without picking on me, but...if ya wanna hear it, go ahead and comment.
