Back story: I walked along the dirt trail, the sound of (MUUUUSSSICCCCCCCCno) cricket chirps filling my ears. It was nice to just go for an evening sneak-out with my best friends. Their names were Stanley, Trinity (yes, the one I adopted), and Sho. Stanley pounced forward on a huge beetle, easy crushing it under his big paw. "Stanley, you know we don't chase insects around anymore," I snorted. Stanley blinked "I know I just felt like squashing it. It was so big, I couldn't resist," Yeah, yeah. Stanley was the most immature of the group, but also pretty cunning. Like a fox. Well, I guess because he is a fox. I rolled my eyes. "Sure, Stanley, whatever you say," Stanley stood up and started scratching in some words in the dirt. It said: 'S T A N L E Y W A S H E R E'. Stanley always did that whenever he killed something. Or if it just looks like a good spot to scratch at. He slid the dead beetle over the word here, as if to show people he killed at that spot. More like to show people how to squash a bug. That's not very impressive. Suddenly, a flashlight beam shone through the trees. Dread filled all of my body as the beams got closer. "Guys, they're looking for us!" I whispered firmly. Trinity, Stanley, and Sho's expressions all fell. "We gotta get moving, now," hissed Trinity quietly. I nodded in agreement, darting off through the undergrowth Trinity took the back, continuing to look over his shoulder to calculate where the beams were. I pounded through the bushes, not caring if I was quiet or not. The grass whipped at my paws, making them itch. But I couldn't stop now. I barreled through a group of thorn bushes, only a few getting snagged on my pelt. I screeched to a halt as I heard Stanley yell behind me. I turned around to see him caught in the thorn bush, patches of his pelt gone from pulling so hard. Trinity and Sho hissed behind him as the beams got closer. I groaned and started to pull Stanley out. Sho and Trinity pushed behind, then in the next few seconds we got him out. We ran faster than we had ever run before. But it was tiring us out really quickly. I started to pant heavily, my paws slowing down slightly. We can't slow down! I yowled and pushed harder, new energy filling my body. I yelled over my shoulder, "Stanley, Sho, Trinity! Come on!" But there was no answer. Had I left them behind? Those slow pokes. I turned around and ran back. Then that's when I felt a heavy object ram into me. I yelled and collapsed under it's weight. It was a pile of chains. I hissed and tried to wriggle out, but nothing happened. They just tightened even more. They started to clamp so tightly that I felt like I was being molded into a smaller shape. I gritted my teeth, trying not to let the pain get to me. My eyes slowly started to water. Ugh, I'm such a crybaby. Another captive landed with a thud beside me. It was Trinity. They must've caught him first! "Trinity!" I whispered. He didn't move. I stuck out a paw from under the chains and poked him. He didn't move. "He's not dead. We just used a Taser." said a voice above me. I looked up and saw him. Tony. And a big fat liar he is, too. He was holding a gun looking thing in his paw. Probably a Taser. Fury boiled to the rim of my soul, steam literally coming out of my ears. Tony snorted. "Dude, you've got steam coming out of your ears. What's wrong with you, are you a cartoon or something? No one knows why you look like that anyways," I bristled, the fury boiling over in a red hot puddle. "I've had about enough with you, TONY TOASTER! I will not take this anymore!" I screeched. The chains around me snapped and immediately melted, the iron seeped around Tony's paws, including the Taser. The device sparked and went dead. The iron puddle went solid around Tony's paws, trapping him where he was. The rage was sizzling and bubbling now, pouring into every nerve and muscle in my body. I swished my tail over Trinity's chains, and several sparks flew on them. They started to melt, and pour onto Trinity's fur. Oops. "ARGH, STOP MELTING AND GET OFF HIM!" I hissed. The iron returned to its normal stage and snapped. I pulled the chains off of Trinity and slapped his cheek. Nothing. I slapped him again, desperateness and grief replacing the rage that was once there. I continued slapping him, then tried tickling him. He could never resist tickling. Wait, did he twitch? I tickled him harder this time, putting my tail up to his nose. His nose twitched, and then he sneezed awake. The bucket of emotions disappeared. I yowled happily, waking him even more. "WAHH??!!" he yelled, rolling over and scrambling to his paws. "Oh, Brisingr. It's only you," he meowed. "Only me? Did you seriously just say that when you were knocked out with a Taser and got put in chains? You're just so unpredictable, Trinity," I said, shaking my head. Sho suddenly stumbled out of the shadows. "I saw a big flash, and I heard chains snapping! What happened here?" he asked, bewildered. "You won't believe me, any of you. I did something really weird!" I replied to him. Sho mewed, "Stanley's still trapped up in a tree. He can't climb down, cause he's in chains too. If he tried to roll out, he would get injured badly. It's a big tree!" I thought for a moment. "Well, I could just climb up there and melt the chains, then you guys catch him when he drops down," The guys nodded in agreement. We set off through the forest, following Sho to the tree. . . . I few moments later, we arrived at the tree. It was big. I started climbing without another word. Once I reached the top, I saw Stanley sitting down with chains on his paws and mouth. "Stanley!" I meowed. Stanley turned around to look at me, and grinned hugely. I padded over and melted the chains. Stanley shook them off and said, "Brisingr, I didn't know you could do that! I thought your name meant 'fire' for a reason," I smiled. "Let's get you down now, Sho and Trinity will catch you below," Stanley nodded, then jumped on a branch. He took a deep breath then leaped off. I heard Sho yell, "We got him!" I started climbing back down, relief washing over me. After that, we started to head back home, ready to fall down on our beds from the previous adventure. So, I guess that wraps up my story. Brisingr, now off!
