I feel as if this happens every time. Story Time: I went mini-golfing recently with my youth group, I noticed that when I'd hit the ball, It would for some reason return to the exact spot it was in when I'm not looking, so this is my theory. On an unrelated note; I'm a sore loser. Nothing Mini bout this Mini-golf.
