Alright, it's finally done! I might tweak the boss a little bit, but the game is fully playable and has a credits screen as well. ALL LEVELS ARE BEATABLE! (including level 23) Marie will tell you what to do in the game. Press space to scroll through Marie/Marina's text. Press R to restart a level if you get stuck or something. Press W to woomy. (holding the button down will lag the game) Press M to mute and unmute the music (not the SFX) You can still charge and throw bombs while in ink. (just so you guys know) I've coded little Easter eggs into the game. Tell me in the comments if you find one! You can also check the code if you're lazy. DEBUG COMMANDS: D - set the level Down arrow - skip the introduction H - set HP to 10
KNOWN BUGS/GLITCHES: -Sometimes levels are skipped. Keep a close eye on the level number to make sure you didn't miss any important info! (use the debug command "d" to go directly to a skipped level) -Occasionally, the game will freeze for a bit between levels. -There's a really weird glitch which I think only happens on level 3 (tell me if you find it on other levels) in which if you throw a bomb towards the center of the ink and it explodes, the octoling death sound will play (sometimes twice, stacked on top of each other). I believe I know the cause of this glitch but I'm too lazy to fix it. -A very similar glitch occurs on level 9 in which if you throw a bomb just behind the regular octoling, the octoling death sound will play but the octoling won't die. -Restarting a level while dying will make you die again. -If you jump off a ledge and die but touch the right side, the death sound will play but you will be taken to the next level. You will also hover for a bit while the death sound is still playing. -Swimming into a wall will cause you to glitch on top of the wall. -Typing something that is not a number (or a number that's too high or low) in the "set level" debug command will cause you to end up in the test level stage. -Pressing the down arrow key at the edge of ink will cause you to repeatedly change from squid form to kid form. -Regular octolings will slide around if they see you while they're walking. I've tried stuff to fix this but it always bugs out. -The octoling in level 9 sometimes starts jumping in midair (happens on slow computers) -Using a launchpad will lag the game slightly. -Dying via octoling ink will sometimes take you to the next level instead of sending you back to the start. -Bombs can go through floors and walls and can glitch up smaller walls. (This is due to pure laziness, one of you guys can fix it) -If you kill a bomb octoling with a bomb and then get killed by one of their bombs (and vice versa, I think), the game may freeze for a few seconds but then continue to run as normal. -The octolings sometimes face the wrong direction until you walk under them or they see you (I don't know why, I've tried a lot of things to fix it). -Throwing a bomb at an infinite vertical wall (from the side or from the bottom) may freeze and crash the game. I've edited the vertical walls so that this glitch won't happen, but if it somehow does happen, press the stop button right away. -Bomb octolings sometimes don't start throwing bombs until you restart the level. (sometimes they don't start throwing at all) -Using the launchpad on level 20 without killing the bomb octoling first will result in the octoling death sound playing when you are teleported to the next level. -The teleporter disappears after one use, meaning that you have to restart a level to use it again if you die. -You can't move if you walk onto a teleporter (you have to use it by pressing the down arrow) -Really weird stuff happens on level 23. If you press R to restart the level, the octoling won't appear and instead there is a chorus of octoling death sounds. -You can still shoot and throw bombs while you're dead or using a launchpad. -While in teleporting mode, you can still throw bombs but you can't shoot. -Teleporting into walls semi-breaks the game. Don't do it. (If you get stuck in a wall press R to restart the level.) CREDITS: Splatoon is made by Nintendo Music/SFX from Splatoon Sprites by ???
