Space. Wow. Just wow. Some of the answers I gave in this meme. XP Yeah, HetaOni was fun for a while, but after my fourth playthrough, which I'm doing just to write a walkthrough, I'm feeling pretty HetaOni'd out. I think I'm done with it and its fandom for the time being. I may return eventually, but not for a while.
***THIS MEME CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR HETAONI. DO NOT READ IT IF YOU HAVEN'T PLAYED HETAONI AND STILL WANT TO PLAY IT UNSPOILED.*** I'll also note that this meme is rather heavy on blood, in case anyone does not want to see that. In the case that there is anyone looking at this project that does not know what HetaOni is, allow me to explain. HetaOni is a fanmade RPG of the webcomic/anime series Hetalia by Hidekaz Himaruya. It is based off of the Japanese horror game Ao Oni, created by noprops. HetaOni was created circa 2010 by the fan Tomoyoshi, and is to date the most well-known Hetalia fanwork ever created. In HetaOni, the characters of Hetalia enter a mansion that is rumored to be haunted, only to discover that they are trapped inside because the door will not open. While looking for means of escape, they are hunted by an Oni (which are demons in Japanese folklore) referred to as the Thing, though it is dubbed 'Steve' by the fandom. Italy continues to have to travel back in time in order to undo the deaths of his friends and try to escape with everyone alive. Sadly, HetaOni was discontinued in March 2011 due to the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. The original creator, Tomoyoshi, lost all of her files for the game as a result of this, and did not want to remake all of it again. The game has been translated into a downloadable English version by DeviantArt users Pianodream and NyoKyno. Now, with that aside, if you're a fan of Hetalia and you're interested in either playing this game or watching it online, let me tell you something first. HetaOni can be very emotionally taxing. It relies rather heavily on psychological horror. Aside from that, the game is actually rather enlightening about the characters and the relationships between them. It managed to make me care about certain characters more than I already did, or make me see them in a new light. Credit to Ghost_Shadow for the original project.
