Hi, My name is Mikel I was born in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. I came to the US when I was 8 years old. I have lived in the bay area for the last 20 years. I attended UC Berkeley and have a BA in Spanish with an emphasis on Hispanic languages and bilingual issues. My interests have always revolved around technology and the ways that it can make life a little bit easier. I struggle sometimes with what is traded off in the name of convenience, but I love technology all the same. I am a closet DJ and will make my own remixes of songs with my own lyrics. I also have a passion for education and helping young people overcome their obstacles to achieve their dreams. My last job lasted about 5 years and included many different responsibilities as well as being a substitute teacher in the classroom. I see my self as a "J of all trades," and enjoy learning new things. I learned how to do this animation while taking an online MOOC earlier this year.
