I too loved the movie Coco! One of the techniques I admired was the animated papel picado stories. Vero's beautiful Catrina inspired me to see if I could create an animated papel picado using her Catrina. Hardest part was (most time) was translating the original image into a pink & black papel picado. I did try to create something that looked like it could be cut and stay together. Next steps: -To understand color effect better so that I could choose the colors, -I think it would be fun to do a little research and have each papel picado show a Katrina different story.
