EDIT: curated on 03/12/2019 by @ArtsyStrawberry! thank you so much!! My entry for @BiteSizedFashionista's 200+ storytelling contest! It consists of a painting, an explanation of the magic system of the world, a setting/world-building thing, a synopsis, a few sketches, and a family tree. I'm sorry it's so rushed and horrible… ;-; I guess this entry counts as both art and writing?? But the focus is probably more on the art, since most of the writing is just stuff used for planning. *・゜゚・*: .。・。.:*・*:.。・。. :*・゜゚・* INSTRUCTIONS: Wait for the title screens to fade away (press space to move through them), and then click the button in the top right to show the menu. When the menu is opened, you can select what you would like to view. The options are listed in ideal viewing order, so please go from top to bottom. (Lots of things won’t make sense if you don’t go in order.) After selecting, use the left/right arrow keys to navigate the different slides. You can click the "back to menu“ arrow to go back to the menu. Click the ✕ button to hide the menu. When the menu is closed, you can press space to see the different versions of the painting, since there are some unfinished parts (I ran out of time :'0). *・゜゚・*: .。・。.:*・*:.。・。. :*・゜゚・* NOTES: So, to explain all of this stuff: I'm actually planning to make a full-length fantasy visual novel for a 2-year school project, and this is what I have so far. Clearly, I'm only in the planning stage right now, but I hope to have at least half of the game done by the end of the school year (I don't have time to do anything more than that, considering that I'll have to create everything on my own—well, other than the game engine. Thank goodness for Ren'Py :P). I had a little bit of trouble when I was creating this project, since a lot of the important lore (as well as the synopsis) is super spoiler-y, but I decided in the end to just include everything so that you can get all of the information. But if you want to someday play the VN once I release it on itch.io without anything being spoiled, then I guess don’t view this project…? I haven't given the VN an official title yet, but I'm debating between these three: Papillon / Adonis Blue / The Light Between the Oceans. Right now, I’m leaning towards the third one. Please tell me what you think in the comments! Oh, and for those of you who want the complete lore, here’s the link to the comprehensive timeline that I mentioned in the project: tiny.cc/farwatertimeline Here’s a link to a higher-res image of the family tree: tiny.cc/norcrossfamilytree *・゜゚・*: .。・。.:*・*:.。・。. :*・゜゚・* CREDITS: everything in the project except for the music is by me () music: Aimer — Stars in the Rain (composed by Taka from ONE OK ROCK) (I love this song so much ;^;) you, the viewer, for reading all of this :’) and, of course, for holding this wonderful contest! <33 *・゜゚・*: .。・。.:*・*:.。・。. :*・゜゚・* EDIT LOG: 12 · 02 · 2018 — added a border around the ribbon in the thumbnail and fixed a small grammar error 12 · 08 · 2018 — removed the border bc it was ugly and fixed a double space 03 · 10 · 2019 — fixed some formatting because 3.0 changed the placement of the text
