You are to face randomized waves of attacking Covenant troopers and survive for as long as possible. When you arrive on the battlefield, choose 1 of 4 UNSC guns. You can also pick up guns of fallen Covenant, which they have a 20% chance of dropping. Enemies will move and spawn faster as the waves increase. There is a 40 second rest after each wave.
