Stan Lee is the creator of many of Marvel's characters, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, The Fantastic Four, The X-Men, Doctor Strange, The Avengers and many more. Born December 28, 1922 and joined Timely Comics in 1939. He worked as an assistant, filling inkwells, erasing papers and other such things. In 1941 he wrote a text-only story called Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge! that was released in Captain America Comics #3. He soon began to work on other comics, such as westerns, romances, humor, and much more. By the mid-50s Timely had been renamed Atlas Comics. When DC Comics revived the superhero genre Atlas renamed themselves Marvel and had Stan return to writing superhero comics. Stan's first comic was called The Fantastic Four. The FF were the first heroes of their kind- complex, characters with real worries and problems. Stan continued to create this type of hero with Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, the X-Men, Doctor Strange and one of the most popular comic-book characters ever, Spider-Man. His characters didn't appear on the big-screen until 2000's X-Men. Lee's characters started dominating the big screen with 2008's Iron Man. This movie was the first of the 19 films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fox created their own universe with the X-Men movies and Sony continued their Spider-Man movies. Stan Lee's characters continued to dominate comics and movies when Sony released the potential start to a Marvel Gaming Universe with the 2018 release Marvel's Spider-Man. Sadly, on November 12 of 2018 Stan Lee was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Hours later he died.
