Credit to @moonpaws Squirrelpaw skidded on the dry rocky soil, tumbling over the edge of the cliff. The foaming waters of the gorge stormed down below her, and panic swirled inside of her as she flew down into the water. The icy current hit her, and she gurgled with shock, her eyes bulging and terrified. Suddenly, the sound of the waves was muted and three ghostly shapes approached her. Her mother, father, and sister appeared, their pelts shimmering with starlight. "Greetings, my daughter," her mother gently mewed. "It's time for you to join StarClan." Squirrelpaw sighed, and let the waters sink her into the depts. "No Squirrelpaw!" Her father said urgently. "Swim! Swiftpaw is waiting." Swiftpaw! Squirrelpaw kicked at the water with powerful hind legs and pawed at the swirling liquid. Suddenly, teeth sank into her scruff and a black-and-white feline figure dragged her out. On shore, Squirrelpaw kicked at the pebbles and vomited mouthfuls of dirty water, her glazed gaze fixed on the cat who saved her. "You save me," she rasped, admiration and pain spiraling in her meow. Swiftpaw gazed at her lovingly. "Don't leave me," he begged. "We-" But before he could finish, Squirrelpaw gave a small sigh and sank into the watery ground, her body going limp as the last breath left her and her spirit flying the StarClan. Swiftpaw tossed his head to his shoulders and wailed to the stars.
