Put yourself in the shoes of someone living in America in the year 1800, when the US was a fledgling nation. How would you stack up on the issues of the day? Like with the regular political compass, the x axis represents economic issues while the top and bottom axis represents general questions of government power. For reference, both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton would stack up as Hamiltonians, with Trump closer to Jacksonianism and Clinton just being strongly near the center of the quadrant. Bernie Sanders would be a Jeffersonian and Ted Cruz would be a solid Jacksonian.
