♥ I wish I could live in a world where the only label anyone is given is "human". We act like discrimination isn't present in our modern-day culture, when it still is making a large impact on society as we know it. We put people into boxes and categories because of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, class, etc. And from there, stereotypes begin to form, which leads to misconceptions, hate, and violence. I wish I and the rest of the world wasn't seen for what stereotypes go along with our background. I wish we could be seen as #JustHuman. ⚠ Please note: No, not all labels are bad. In fact, some labels can bring others closer together and create a sense of community! But let's forget our differences for a moment. Let's look at everyone around us as only human. Have you changed your opinion on someone, now that you're viewing them as just human? When used right, labels can be a wonderful thing. But categorization can often be the enemy of individualism. ✂ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It's important for us all to come together in these times of hate, where diversity is still a hard thing for some people to grasp. But remember- your differences make you, you! Humans weren't made to be carbon copies of one another, it's the uniqueness of every single individual on the face of this planet that defines the very meaning of 'human'. So let's abolish every label. Every stereotype. Let's have our humanity, our beauty, and our capacity to love judge what kind of person we are. #JustHuman ✂ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Far left- Mayson, a boy with cancer.
