Characters Used: Asule Yni (mentioned) As she was washing up the dishes, she sensed Asule approach her from behind. She stopped what she was doing and turned to face him. “Good morning, Asule.” She said, smiling pleasantly down at the little blue cat, “Is there something you wish to tell me?” Her familiar nodded. “Yes, Master. I do.” “Oh, Asule. How many times have I asked you not to call me that? Too many is the answer.” She joked, “I swear, you do not have to be so… formal around me.” Yni trailed off, she had just noticed the worry in her faithful familiar’s eyes. “I am so sorry, Asule. I should not be so frivolous about your concerns- I am listening now, so feel free to speak.” Asule opened his mouth to speak then closed it again. He looked up into her eyes sheepishly. She smiled encouragingly. “I’m only a doll. Not a real person. I’m a fake and not even a useful one. I’m just a waste of your magic, Yni-kaarii. So, please, Master, undo the spell.” He pleaded, the desperation clear in his voice. “I am so sorry, Asule, but I am afraid I cannot do that.” “Why, Master? This is your life we’re talking about!” “I could never cast you aside for such a selfish reason.” He was crying now as he spoke, “I… I was c-created to be… be your friend and th-that is why I s-said those things...” Yni reached into her pocket and pulled out a crumpled hankerchief which she used to wipe away the tears in his magenta eyes. “We shall work through this dilemma together, Asule, because no matter what happens I will not abandon you.”
