I know I said Venom would be my last character, but I couldn’t resist! X3 POWERS: Driftwood’s powers are very interesting, in that he can control plants like a Leafwing, but he can only control seaweed and other aquatic plants while fully submerged in water. Also, his Seawing scales (the leaf-ish veins on his wings and the little Leafwing spot things) only activate while he is using this power, and they all shine at the same time, disappearing after he stops using his Leafwing abilities. Therefore, he can not control his Seawing scales, and thus cannot speak aquatic. Also, one more itty-bitty addition, overuse of his Leafwing powers causes an effect similar to if an animus dragon overused their powers. Think Prince Albatross from the books, but in episodes. (Aka one minute he might be ok, but then might possibly become like Albatross the next with even the slightest trigger, depending on how much he has overused it: the more he uses his powers, the more common the episodes become.) His scales also glow during these episodes. After the episode, he can’t remember anything that happened during it, and often feels lightheaded. BIO: He was born in Pantala, and never knew about his Seawing heritage until he accidentally triggered his powers in front of friends while hanging out by the lake. They didn’t know why Driftwood was glowing, so most of them ran away. It was then he also learned he could breathe underwater, as there are also not many lakes on Pantala, so he hadn’t gone swimming before. His mother then told him how his father had swam to Pantala to help with the making of the portal (before it was made) and how they fell in love, and that after Driftwood was born, his father had to go back to Pyrrhia. After that, Driftwood went through the portal to Pyrrhia to find his father, but to no avail. Now, he often goes back and forth between Pantala and Pyrrhia, calling the Abyss his home. (He can also breathe underwater.)
Driftwood woke up from... something... his head throbbing. He blinked twice, looked around at his surroundings, wondering where he was. A few moments later, he recognized the place as just outside the coast of the Rainwing Kingdom, which was where he had been staying the past moon. He noticed the glow of his Seawing scales fade away, wondering when they had begun to glow in the first place. His scales weren’t wet, so he hadn’t been underwater... Beneath him felt like dragon scales, but he could see nothing but the grass and leaves beneath him on the jungle floor. A few moments later, stark white splotches began to fade their way into existence, and soon he could recognize that there was a dragon beneath his talons. A large scratch contrasted against the bright white of the Rainwing’s scales, and the terrified look on their face shocked Driftwood, still having no idea what he did or what happened. As soon as he saw the blood on his talons, his rounded, dazed pupils turned to thin slits as his heart began to race. He backed away from the traumatized Rainwing, still looking down at his talons, looked up at the crowd of dragons that had gathered from Driftwood-didn’t-know-when, and flew away off into the trees.
