Hades909 [Owner] posted Tue at 20:48 For the past Month I have been holding back wether or not to share this news with the community or not. It has come to my attention that the information is already reaching players and there is nothing I can do to hide it from you guys. I will start from the beginning and tell you where we stand as a community. This will awnser any question you may have or be concerned about.lets start with the EULAEULA: The ELUA was never officially placed but we followed Mojang's request in the best way we could but as of today the EULA will not be in forced. This is good for our server and the donation perks we have.now as for bukkit/spigot Bukkit/Spigot: For players that do not know what Bukkit is, it is the backbone to multiplayer severs. This is where we get our updates, plugins, and most of our Minecraft content news. Recently the Bukkit project was abandon and will no longer be continued. This will effect all servers out there and slow down development completely. I will not go into details of why they are shutting down but you can read about it on their website. Links will be provided at the button of this message. Now we never used Bukkit to update our server ONLY our plugins came from Bukkit API. We used a branch off of Bukkit called Spigot. Spigot is better for server owners that like to get more technical with optimizing a server and to run it almost lag free. Now because Spigot was based off Bukkit they can not continue the Bukkit project, but they have found a way around it to continue new updates for the multiplayer servers. These updates will come out a lot slower then we are use to because no one on the Spigot team gets paid it is all community service so don't expect a 1.8 update that is official any time soon. Because of Spigot we will be able to continue growing as a server! any more information on spigot the link will be posted below as well.Lastly the news that could end us or grow us.Microsoft Buys Mojang!: As of today Microsoft has bought Mojang this could be a great thing for Minecraft and the community, but it could also change a lot of the freedom we are use too. Mojang did not state wether or not they will allow server owners to host servers or not, but Microsoft did state they want to hear as much feedback as possible from the community. Feedback from a community can impact a lot, so do not be afraid to post how you feel about these changes to Minecraft. Microsoft will most likely not do to much because they do not want to kill a community they know nothing about. I will say this is a new thing for them and there will be mistakes made, but we will just have to keep fighting as a community so they realize whats good and whats bad for Minecraft. For those that don't know the details of this deal Microsoft bought Mojang for 2.5billion dollars. I think anyone would sell out for that much money.so to summarize all this information about what has gone on in the past month your all probly wondering what will happen to One Peace? Also if you have not noticed 5% of servers have already shut down. I want to confirm with everyone we will NOT be one of these 5%. One Peace will fight through this hard time and we will became a bigger community out of it! The way to help us from not falling victim to this issue is three simple tasks anyone can do!the easiest and free way is vote for the server you love! the second easiest and also free way is to play on One Peace!
