Wave the strange green thing and take a listen! To clarify: the one near the red octagon (haha octo), not Ivy-dressed-as-Marie's amazing squid hair. Wanna know the lyrics? Sure! They're inside the project, in the backdrop's scripts. These are official, too, because Nintendo was kind to us with their albums! :o
Behold: The aforementioned "surprise" for the Scratchloid studio! I finally got a Wii U along with Splatoon in August, and I've been playing a ton of it! So I decided to do a cover of a Squid Sisters song as my yearly end-of-year BeepBox project. Specifically, a BeepBox remix (but only specific instruments, because I had trouble with the chords) dual-mixed with the original song... with Ivy and Hikari singing! It was actually a bit more difficult than it seems, though. See, BeepBox only allows for very specific tempos, none of which exactly matched Maritime Memory. So after I finished the BeepBox part, I had to go into Audacity and match the times. ...However, Audacity has a problem with time, too, and that's the number inputs on its effect settings. Trying to change the tempo got me a bit frustrated because the inputs can only go down to hundredths, and I needed to fit a thousandth in. I used the same strategy for the BeepBox section as the vocals, and afterwards, I selected everything and set it as close as possible to the original's length. In some parts (especially the "mya weni marei" part), you can still hear the vocals sliiightly off from that. The last part is probably the most well-synced! I had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to draw Ivy and Hikari as Marie and Callie, respectively. What's interesting is that Ivy and Callie both have the longest, darkest hair, and Hikari's is the other way around- but Ivy's voice matches Marie's more and Hikari's matches Callie's! I colored their hair respectively, but the styles matched the voice match's hair more. That's why, uh, I accidentally ended up giving Hikari the longer hair? ...oops. At least I'm getting the hang of drawing tentacle hair? If you somehow thought this was a project about me leaving (because Maritime Memory is a credits song), I'm glad to say that's not the case! I've been using Scratch for about 8 years now, and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon. If anything, this is more comparable to the memories of 2018 as a whole, because the year's almost over... which is specifically the reason why I uploaded this now. I don't make projects often, so this will probably the last this year, and also from 2.0, so I timed this to be my 10th this year, too. In fact, in order to make this even bigger, I unshared one of my old ones to make this my 50th shared project on this account! After all, that's a pretty cool benchmark. I started with 1.0 was excited to start 2.0 when it came out, so we'll start off the 3.0 season with a bang! Afterwards, I'll kick off the new year and new editor with a, uh... filler project I made to test the Google Translate and TTS blocks? What? Come on! I did the Inklish project as a filler, I can do this too! :o Anyway, like I said, I'm going to wait until 3.0 to upload any more projects. By the time that happens, this comment will still be here, unchanged, because That's How I Roll! So, uh... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :D Credits: Music - Maritime Memory from Splatoon by Nintendo. Remix adds some noice lines from BeepBox (beepbox.co)! Singing provided by UTAUloids Ivy Karasuageha (mine) and Hikari Haneko ( / ). I even made the USTs myself! All mixed together using the amazingness that is Audacity. Art - Ivy and Hikari, dressed as Callie and Marie, who are also from Splatoon! Drawn by me using Colors!3D. ...hey, that rhymes- Snow effect from a project. (
