omg yeah so i finished this like 2 months ago but kept putting off sharing it for whatever reason,,, i hope it's not too late now haha ^^;; i had a lot of fun working on this entry! i told my friend about it and we started coming up with a lot of ideas together, ik this isnt a write to adopt haha sorry but i hope its good ^_^ (press space to see some other doodles) meet basil!! you can find a lot more about him in notes inside the project (warning they're just bullet points of ideas rn), but here's some basic stuff: (we also have a whole plot laid out for him but.. i thought i'd keep that secret for now bc yaknow (; spoilers (; ) name: basil age: 18 gender: male Basil is an orphan who was found and raised from a young age by a forest spirit. When the spirit saved him, she granted him the powers of shapeshifting to connect him further with the forest and allow him to live in it easier. It would also ward off any predators, as they’d leave him alone once they sensed he had some of the spirit’s power within him. However, when the spirit passed on some of her powers, she didn’t realize that Basil’s tiny human body wouldn’t be able to handle them fully, and it went a bit haywire, causing a side effect Basil refers to as his “growth.” This condition is what causes the small sprouts to grow primarily out of his head and back. Basil is very emotional, kind-hearted and smart- if not a little aloof when it comes to the human world outside of his forest home. Even though he tries his hardest to look on the bright side, he falls into anxiety and pessimism fairly easily.
