Excerpt from 'Imperfect': Deep in a laboratory, lit by only the glowing chemicals, a scientist sits at a bench, concentrating intently. Spread around him are blueprints, pages of carefully planned designs, and in front of him, the object - a bomb. This bomb has the power to ruin lives, tear families apart and build empires. The scientist has a choice; he could dissemble it, throw all the parts into the ocean, or bury them metres under the ground, and forget he ever found it. Or he could make it work, set it off and kill whoever he wanted, destroy wherever he wanted, and use it to make himself powerful beyond dreams. He has chosen the second option. At five the next morning, the bomb will go off in the house of Governor Welle, the most powerful man in his country, as he welcomes other world leaders to an annual conference.
