Backstory: He was born in rust, and got exposed to the tarnish at a young age. He seemed to be immune, or at least resistant to the adverse effects on the mind, and the leaves on his back and tail started disintegrating. His parents threw him out, for fear of getting infected themselves, and he grew up alone, still trying to fight off the infection that was attempting to corrupt his mind.
