Simon, Dom-Daniel's apprentice, kidnaps Jenna and throws her in a prison cell in his observitory, so that he can feed her to the magogs the next day. However, Jenna maneges to escape using a chocholate charm and a spring. She rides Simons horce out of the badlands and narrowly escapes the jaws of a land wurm. Meanwhile, Septimus and Nicko go into the forest to get help from the expert tracker Wolf Boy who is accualy Boy 409, one of Septimus' friends from the Young Army. They also get help from the forest witch coven and are told that they will find Jenna at the port. When the boys finnaly get to the port they find Jenna as she is traveling to Keepers Cottage for her anual visit to the dragon boat. After staying at a creepy hotel the children send Stanly a rat from the Secret Rat Service to get Aunt Zelda's bogart that can guied them to the cottage. But their plans are put to a stop when Simon uses the long lost art of Flyte to try and kidnap Jenna again. He is nearly succesful but Wolf Boy threw a rock at Simon's eye and sent him flying back to his observitory. When Septimus, Nicko, Jenna, and Wolf Boy finaly got to Keepers cottage the dragon boat told Jenna that she needed to go back to the castle because she was in danger at Keepers Cottage. So Jenna Septimus and Nicko flew the dragon boat back to the castle.
