Well, this is Tuskar, another misfit. His short leg and patchy scale coloring is thanks to his MSD, or Meanageraic Skin Disorder(description at the bottom of the page). He shouldn't really be alive, since the disorder renders him almost useless for hunting, fishing, or other normal activities for Callatian dragons, and dependence upon others is deeply frowned upon in their culture. But he's used to all the jeers, and after school he goes to work at his aunt Rhode's candy shop(which I must admit, is the best in all of Callatou, and even I go their often, if only to grab a few cartons of the Mixed Bunch ice cream. Cliff keeps trying to tell me it's an unhealthy habit.) He tends the cash register, where everyone can see him. Dragons have one of two reactions: either they silently praise him for showing the world who he is, and not being afraid of it, or they give him a funny look, and ask Rhode 'Who's this scrap?' they stop after she gives them a devious smile and says, 'Hmm, you don' 'appn to know Rosie now, do ye? I thought so. I'm guessin' you don' want me tellin' one of the greatest generals Khalarahun has even known that some rotten scumbag's been badmouthin' her boy. Now, the door' is 'at way. Go on now, I don' need yer filth in ma shop, so shoo!' If you can't read my handwriting, it says, "The difference between me and all the 'normal' drakes is that I wear my problems like my scales, where everyone can see them, and I can be proud of it" -Tuskar Oh, and if you couldn't tell, a Callatian dragon's pride is not connected to how much gold he sleeps upon at night, nor how shiny his scales are(though it can take up a lot of his time). A true Callatian dragon puts his pride in his service to the kingdom, and his action, or inaction. And that is what they look for in others as well. This is a condition in which the genes of one parent does not have sufficient time to properly sync with the genes of the other, resulting in young that have extra or missing limbs, eyes, horns or other features. It is most common in the offspring of dragons with mixed backgrounds, but can occur in purebreds as well.
