Trigger warning: implications of self-harm Volume warning: the song is loud ~ Instructions ~ Arrow keys to navigate the (multiple) slides. ~ Inspiration and Theme ~ You said if I took your hand, You would take me to the stars. You said you'd save me from the madness, But now I don't know who you are. You promised it would be alright. You told me I was winning the war. But when I saw through your lies, You left me at the shore. ~ Credits ~ @-BrightStarii- for the excellent contest and poem this work is inspired by. Original poem by @mgb101 Song is "King" by Lauren Aquilina, chosen because it was my ex best friend's favorite song (which has forever ruined it for me, ha ha) and the title of the theme poem is "Ex". Author's note: This is my experience with an ex (close friend) of mine. I have and still do struggle with mental health issues. I have no wish to glorify any of it. It is dirty, messy, and a horrible spiral of pain and loss.
