MORE INFO: Gravity is a force that, with two objects like the Earth and Sun, pull on each other, making the Earth move towards the Sun. Also, velocity keeps the Earth moving, causing the Earth to miss the Sun every time it moves towards the Sun. If the orbit stopped, the Earth would crash into the Sun.
