I've typed a story here for you. It is based off of the 1982 film, but with far less violence. Press the green flag to hear an ominous sound. Winter in Antarctica. The year: 2019 You must be at least 13 to read this. Also, to appeal to some people out there, My Little Pony elements are included in the story. The weapons in this story drop the character's sprite to a very low resolution of pixels. this process is known as pixelation. In Antarctica, a Equestrian helicopter pursues a sled dog to an Scratcher research station. The Scratchers witness the Equestrian passenger accidentally blow up the helicopter. The Equestrian pilot fires a pixel gun and shouts at the Scratchers, but they cannot understand him and he is pixellated in self-defense by station commander Garry. The Scratcher helicopter pilot, C.J. McDaniel, and Dr. Creed leave to investigate the Equestrian base. Among the charred ruins and frozen pixels, they find the burned remaining pixels of a malformed creature which they recover to the Scratcher station. Their biologist, Blaine, performs examinations on the pixels and finds a normal set of human elements. Christopher kennels the sled dog, and it soon metamorphoses and absorbs the station dogs. This disturbance alerts the team and Guilder uses a flamethrower to pixelate the creature. Blaine autopsies the new creature and learns that it can perfectly imitate other organisms. Recovered Equestrian data leads the Scratchers to a large excavation site containing a partially buried alien spacecraft, and a smaller, human-sized dig site. Norman estimates that the alien ship has been buried for at least 100,000 years. Blaine grows paranoid that the creature could assimilate all life on Earth in a matter of years. The station implements controls to reduce the risk of assimilation. The "pixelated", malformed humanoid creature assimilates an isolated Bart, but Walker interrupts the process and McDaniel pixelates the Bart-Thing. Blaine sabotages all the vehicles, pixelates the remaining sled dogs, and destroys the radio to prevent escape. The team imprison him in a tool shed. Creed suggests a test to compare each member's DNA against uncontaminated DNA held in storage, but after learning that the DNA stores have been destroyed, the men lose faith in Garry, and McDaniel takes command. McDaniels, Walker and Niles find Fred nowhere to be found and surmise he teleported away to avoid assimilation. Walker returns to base while McDaniel and Niles investigate McDaniel's shack. On their return, Niles abandons McDaniel in a snowstorm, believing he has been assimilated after finding his torn clothes in the shack. The team debate whether to allow McDaniel inside, but he breaks in and holds the group at bay with dynamite. During the encounter, Norman appears to suffer a muscle cramp. As Creed attempts to heal Norman, his chest transforms into a large mouth and bites Creed's arms, pixelating him. McDaniel pixelates the Norman-Thing, but some of it's pixels separate and attempt to escape before also being pixelated. McDaniel is forced to pixelate Christopher in self-defense when the latter lunges at him from behind with a baseball bat. He hypothesizes that the Norman-Thing's pixels demonstrated that every part of the Thing is an individual life form with its own survival instinct. He sequentially tests DNA samples with a heated piece of wire. Everyone passes the test except Palmer, whose DNA jumps from the heat. Palmer transforms and infects Walker, forcing McDaniel to pixelate them both. Guilder is left on guard while the others go to test Blaine. They find that Blaine has escaped, and has been using vehicle components to assemble a small spacecraft. On their return, Guilder is missing and the power generator is destroyed. McDaniel speculates that the Thing intends to return to hibernation until a rescue team arrives. McDaniel, Garry, and Niles decide to detonate the entire station to destroy the Thing. As they set explosives, Blaine pixelates Garry and Niles disappears. Blaine transforms into an enormous creature and destroys the detonator. McDaniel triggers the explosives using a stick of dynamite, destroying the base. McDaniel sits nearby as the station burns. Guilder returns, saying he became lost in the storm while pursuing Blaine. Exhausted and slowly freezing, they acknowledge the futility of their distrust and McDaniel passes Guilder a can of soda.
