It's that time of the month again: art dump time. I've been doing a bunch of things lately, so January was tiring. --------- 1. This was one of the last finished drawings I did in 2018. It's Josuke from "Jojo's Bizarre Adventure". I tried experimenting with this by putting down the colours before the lineart. 2. I also drew the other Josuke from JJBA, since I got to part 8 of the series. This had the lineart before the colouring. 3. Skulls and eyes 4. I rewatched some episodes of "Brave Police J-Decker" while drawing and did some sketches of Yuuta. 5. 1967 Chevy Impalas 6. Some sketches of my character Maurice 7. More Maurices. Which one does the pair of hands belong to? The world may never know. 8. A motorcycle and a couple 1952 Lambretta scooters 9. Things sketched while going on a brief trip 10. I tried drawing a thing straight with ballpoint pen, but gave up fairly early on. 11. More-rices, but with winter garments 12. More Lambrettas 13. Beetles. Most of them are stag beetles, but the big one is a Hercules beetle. 14. Another Jo2uke, but this time with some large fries. I got some inspiration from sailor tattoos some of the way through. 15. I got an idea for another character, so these next few images are of my design process, starting with some early sketches 16. A continuation of the process with a bunch of messy doodles 17-19. Some neater sketches done after developing things more. I got a pretty good idea of what I was doing at this point. 20. A couple of sketches with the design I'm currently using. I think I'm gonna call him Philaeus, with Phil as a nickname or something. The sketch at the bottom is not one of the Phil sketches. 21. Anatomy studies 22. Drawing from a photograph 23-25. Trolley sketches that get progressively looser 26. I started watching "Cyborg 009" recently and attempted to sketch 009. I like the bottom sketch more than the top sketch. 27. Some watercolour marker fashion sketches. I realized that the largest sketchbook I own had some nice paper that held watercolour well, but it couldn't be carried around easily, so I took some of the pages out, cut them in half, and made myself a second, smaller sketchbook. 28. More sketches of outfits 29. Just a fun page with a plethora of sketches 30. Sandwiches 31-33. A drawing of Koichi and Echoes in its different acts from JJBA 34. More scooters, but they aren't Lambrettas, and there's a dude on one of them 35. I tried drawing Drillboy from "Brave Police J-Decker", but I got frustrated when drawing the face and gave up. Dynamic poses and geometric robot parts don't mix as easily as I thought they would. 36. Tiny building concepts and a quick gesture of a dude I also drew nearly twenty Valentine's Day cards within the past couple weeks, but I'm going to share those in a different project in February. -------- The music is "Left Bank Two" by The Noveltones.
