I haven't done vector art in a loooooooooooooong time *stretches arms* And ever since Scratch 3.0 re-did the entire thing, I've been meaning to test it out. So here's the final product! (Made in SVE) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My thoughts on 3.0's vector Positives: - Although it's completely different from the old one, I kinda like it a little more. Why? It has more functions. A lot of vector apps, like Affinity Designer, don't used little dots that must be moved around to create shapes, like the old vector. The new one is more similar to the actual apps, which I want to learn to use one day. The new vector is a good stepping stone to learning. - The infinite zoom is a great feature that I love. Previously, I had to make the small shapes really large while working on it, and then shrink it. With the new feature, I don't have to do this, and it saves a lot of time. - Being able to work on the "inside" shapes is quite helpful. Although I didn't include any of those shapes in the illustration, I did experiment with them. On the old vector editor, shapes with holes could not be made unless a line was formed and connected at the ends. This made the lining rather rough. Now, shapes can be drawn and they will automatically connect. Then the user can make the edges smoother. - The eraser function is quite handy if you want to get rid of a part of the shape. While I did not use this at all, I've tested it out before. This is also helpful for starter artists who want to use the vector editor. Negatives: - The color and filling the shapes is a little wonky. Like, I'll color the shape, decide I need to reshape it and recolor it, but the new shape has a weird coloring. The gradient of the shapes changes locations. So previously, the fade would occur a little farther down, but then it would be higher up, ruining the picture. - Lines, I found, cannot be made into a gradient, which really sucks. This isn't a big thing, it just annoys me since lines with gradients are a nice touch to illustrations. There are a few more things I would write about, but I feel like I should save those for another time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Credits: - @Rosyda for the idea of rain falling. - Music - Don't Run Away (A-TEEN) by Motte - Art and code - @Ellollie
