I saw @-rein- 's great project. I wanted to demonstrate how ants do this. When ants find food they go back to the nest leaving a chemical trail that leads back to the food. Other ants that come along this trail will follow it. If they find food they will also leave a trail leading to the food. The trails fade over time, so if the food source disappears, there won't be a trail soon after as well. This project demonstrates exactly this. Press space to make the trails dissapear. This way you can compare having tails and not.
