This is the flag of the Free Republic of Italy. The standard Italian tricolor is used, with the addition of the coat of arms of six of Italy's former maritime republics, due to the fact that these states are examples for what Italy should be. The six maritime republics are placed based on where they are located geographical, with the top row being north, the right side being east, the left side being west, and the bottom row being the south. From top to bottom, left to right, the republics are; Genoa, Venice, Pisa, Ancona, Gaeta, and Amalfi.
