I just stared at my unconscious sister. Just stared. She was laying there with some creep mugger on her back. Yet I just stared. Not dead. Just knocked out. Whew! After about a minute my head cleared of my staring haze, I realized, “Well, sheesh! If they see you they will want you too.” I stopped glowing and hid in some nearby coral thinking, “You will need a new spy spot,” then I saw it. A large slimy, goopy, gooshy, tentacle about as long as a fathom came drifting out of the gross black sand. It blended in well with the charcoal black sand and that's why I didn't notice it. What I did notice was, I'm not perfectly sure but sorta sure that it was connected to the body that was sitting on my slumbering sis. Now seeing it I made a quick list in my pounding frightened brain of who it could be or whose pet but... none of my suspects hated my twin. Nobody even had a squid that big so no pets. And I've never seen an Atlantein with characteristics like a squid. So no people either. I was running out of choices because mom fainted and Nautili is obviously sleeping. I have to find a new spy spot. And call Aunt Merlin. Even though I hate her, she's a cop. The chief of police to the truth. So I quickly dialed 449-788-1932 which is her number. “Hello?” “Aunt Merlin!” “Oh, it's Luna” she said unenthusiastically “CometomycoordinatesimmediatelysomeonejusttriedtokillNautiliandthepersonsjustsittingthereandyoucouldcatchthemandyou'reapoliceofficerandtheycouldgotojailandwewouldallbesafe.” my words were breathless and quick to signal urgency. “ Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, now is tea time…i'll be there in 20 minutes.” she hung up and left my phone beeping. She did not sense my urgency. I think she ignored it. … My tail flicked against the gristly, puke, colored seaweed. I finally found a new spy spot. It hid all of me but was disgusting. I hoped the cops would come soon, it was gross. I desperately wanted home but… I was watching the mystery man and Nautili. I heard another splash and a smaller mystery man swam up. The big one spoke. “Gardruff, no sign of her?” “ Yes, Master K. are you sure you saw a glow in the dark atlantein? I mean it sounds-” “Gardruff, I am a mutant, so I can sense a mutant.” his gruff voice showed no funny business. My back felt like a single drop of water was cascading down it. “Yes Master K.” “Do not leave until she is found or officer Merlin comes.” “Yes Master K.” He looked more and more and more upset about every word. I felt the same way. ... When I heard sirens in the distance I just knew I had to get that shadow person. My quick reflexes allowed me to leap onto the small one and using the same gross seaweed, I tied him up. The large shadowy squid dude left as fast as his tentacles would take him. Aunt Merlin's van showed up, it's dolphins glistening in the moon and stars. She took out handcuffs and cuffed the small shadow creature then shoved him in the back of the van. She asked, “what's your name?” The creature was silent. She asked it again but he still didn't answer. I stepped forward and cleared my throat because of stupid soot then said “I heard someone else call him Gardruff” He stared at me. “Hey! You're the one master wanted. Too bad I can’t catch you now.” Then he processed what he just said and replied “Whoops, I said too much! Just ignore what you heard.” Aunt Merlin looked at me and murmured “Gardruff? That's the Atlantein word for “smart thief,” what else did you hear?” I told her the whole story and she listened intently with heavy focus. But the same words felt like a chainsaw to the brain: “I am a mutant, so I can sense a mutant.” Sorry for poor quality. This was written 3 years ago. ~~~ So, that's my girl Luna. She's a species called an Atlantein, and she is twins with a normal Atlantein. Her other sister's defense is messed up, because unlike a normal Atlantein whose tail will become feet on land, Asteria gains feet underwater and a tail on land. She hates yucky things. Such a chic. Moon Atlanteins are like albinos: rare, pale, and have many medical problems :P Songs: Never Forget You + Feel So Close + Youngblood
