Some more tips: ~Anatomy~ I know you have a more cartoony style, but learning basic human anatomy and bone structure can really help your art. It can really help to learn how to proportion the body too. At the bare minimum, I highly recommend learning the proportion of the ribcage to the pelvis and the skull to the rest of the body. It also helps to know the proportions of the thigh to the shin, the upper arm to the lower arm, and the torso to the legs. Knowing basic human anatomy will also help with the placement and flow of clothes on the body. ~Looser Posing~ Your posing could also be a bit less stiff. That really helps bring in more visual interest. Consider having her leaning against something a bit more, instead of having her just sitting mostly straight. ~Backgrounds~ Your background is very nice, but the music notes could be leading a bit more to the focal point of the drawing, which in this seems like the character's face. Backgrounds are very helpful in leading the eye to the focal point, so use that to you advantage. Also it would be nice if she was leaning against a tree or something too. ~Form~ It is also important to pay attention to how the shape of things can be distorted by elements the character is interacting with. For example, the hair's shape would be slightly changed by the object she's leaning against. ~Position~ I don't think that's where headphones are supposed to go? Again, this can be fixed by studying anatomy and how the form of an object is affected when it interacts with something else. ~General Advice~ -Use a referance, it really helps! -Learn the basics of color theory (which you probably already have done, the color palette of this is really nice) -Learn about lighting and shadows (I highly recommend taking a lighting course by Pixar on Khan Academy, it has really helped me) -Have fun!!!
