Note: This game gets difficult. Very difficult. You have been warned. Arrow keys to move, if you find you have become stuck, press space. T turns on tracing to help with path tracking, C clears traces. you will have to turn tracing back on at each level. You can also use it to draw stuff if you're good at it. Wall jumping is a thing in this engine, so if there's a wall, don't let logic rule that out!
Update: Levels Finished! MonoPlex is a puzzle game where everything is 2 shades of red, and essentially, is based around you not being able to see the ground. all you can see is yourself, along with dangers, and your objective is to attempt to navigate towards the other side of the level, using trial and error. Story: You are a block, stuck in a plane of existence where the only color pallet is red. Not only do you dream of being able to see where you are going, you dream of seeing the world outside, full of different colors. Traverse the monochromatic levels to make your great escape into the outside and witness the polychromatic world once more. I used jailbird17's game as a base engine, as it bore resemblance in gameplay to my idea, and it worked best, so i decided to save time. The main difference being difficulty. The engine is incredibly good for platformers and is easy to use and work with. Music is from a slew of different things, mainly nintendo games. But the list that i got them from was from a non-euclidean style puzzle game called Rooms by Izik which can be found here: https://izik.itch.io/rooms . this was my main inspiration for creating a puzzle game, though the 2 games are very different. I made this in an hour so there's like 4 levels right now and only a floor danger. also, note that this game is difficult. Also, the name is a conjoining of the words "Monochromatic" and "Perplex" I do plan to keep updating this and adding more levels, so always check back for more, but feel free to remix and add your own levels! Thanks for reading all of this! as a bonus, if you are in serious trouble and cant figure a level out, there is a white background you can switch to in the games code, though i highly recommend you play it normally, as otherwise its really no fun, but its in there because i'd rather everybody at least be able to experience the whole game, then be stuck at one level. You're on your honor. Please comment what you think!
