Thinking about creating visual representations of data - a data story - and how scratch could be used to do so. Students would probably enjoy using Scratch more than Excel (or other spreadsheet). A Data story - Bar none. 3/1/19 Just set up a random "weather" generator. This could be converted to a list of actual observations. 3/4/19 added "Rainy" to the observations and Scratch cat has an umbrella - and a puddle! Since Day and Weather are numeric within the code, one could expand this to a month of data. Could even add lists for the max number of days in a month [31,28/29,31,30 ...], and one for the month names. On the other hand depending on the age, a student may just prefer to have everything in the code. Rain and and umbrella for Scratch would be fun!
