Welcome to the Heart. An island located in the center of the Bermuda Triangle, we are sheltered from the outside world, and most bad weather. Here, people of all races, skin tones, looks, types, and shapes can live together in harmony. Our island is huge, with the capital city located in the dead center, atop a hill overlooking the rest of the island. If you can get to the Heart, and obey our laws, you can stay with the Heart. If you’d like to leave, feel free. Welcome to our land. The language of the Heart has changed and evolved over the years, and will continue to do so for the rest of time. It is a blend of the many brought by the people who have found their way into our shores. The main difference? Here in this sheltered land, magic is possible. So when one accepts the offer to live here once promising to obey our laws, they can instinctively understand and speak the language. With the current nationalities part of the Heart, the languages that have become part of the language, called simply Heartian are English, French, German, Spanish, Icelandic, Arabic, and Norwegian. There is no way to describe the people here. Everyone is different- whether in skin tone, body shape, hair color, eye color, height, personality, or simply who they are at the soul. But everyone here is willing to accept everyone, and does. Everyone is brave, everyone is a survivor. Otherwise, they would’ve have made it to the shores of Heart. The only way to reach is is through an accident- plane crash or boat wreck that tests who you are at the core. That is how we have held our peace. The vegetation on Heart island is varying. Most of the island is lush and green, though there are area of just rock or sand. On the Eastern side, thicker forests flourish, with small monkeys, and larger wild cats living among the foliage. The Western side is more volcanic, with black sand beaches and rocky areas populated by sea birds, crabs, and iguanas. The center of the island is taken for the main cities, and domesticated animals from horses to mice live as pets among the people. Many of the United States, if not all have a state flower or plant and animal to symbolize them, and the Heart has taken the same practice. The national animal of the Heart is an urocyon cinereoargenteus, also called a grey fox. The animal was on the island when the first of the humans to settle on the Heart landed, and soon became beloved by the people. The national bird is the buteo lineatus; red shouldered hawk. And the national plant is the taxodium ascendens; pond cypress.
The population on Heart is currently only two hundred and four people. Over half of these people came from various crashes and accidents, but several have been born on the island. There are nearly as many species of birds alone as there are people here, and many more species of animals and insects overall. Fashion on Heart is varying according to various traditions where the people have come from, but there is one required article of clothing. Each person from Heart must at all times be wearing a spiraling gold and silver styled cloth anklet on the left ankle. This is to ensure that everyone is recognized as a citizen, and that different warded buildings let citizens in. Each anklet has a small chip in it that building wards recognize, and temporarily lift for a citizen to enter. The anklet can also be used as a light, and a tracking device when activated. And now since I need three more paragraphs I’ll write a mini story about arriving at Heart The waves crash over the deck of the ship- RMS Princess. I grit my teeth as the waves pull at my feet and body, nearly washing me overboard. The only reason we’re all still here are the ropes that tie us to the ship. Our supplies are long gone, food for the fish and sharks at sea. There’s nothing we can do but hope the storm will die down, and the current lessen. Four hours this storm has raged, and it doesn’t show any sign of calming. But then, suddenly, it all stops. I look around in confusion. The dark clouds, wind, and rain are all still there. But nothing is touching us. In fact, there seems to be an invisible wall between the ship and storm, and a small stretch of sea. Looking forward, away from the storm, I gasp. A distant speck of land. The howl of the wind still drowns out everything, so I raise my voice to the loudest shout I can manage. “Land!” Our boat cuts fast through the waves the second the crew takes their positions once more. The island is growing bigger by the minute, and puts the storm far behind. The island is simply huge, lush and bright. The waters are calm. With only a few feet left, I simply jump from the boat, and swim the remaining paces. Splashes behind me tell others have done the same. In only a few strokes, my hands, then feet strike the sand. I pull myself onto land, and collapse immediately, legs not able to hold me on still land. A flash of movement in front of my catches my attention, and I raise my head. It is a tall adult, dark skinned, with deep brown eyes, expression thoughtful. A moment later, they speak. “Welcome to the Heart.” Postnote- I know I've got to get the art, I have it drawn, and I'll add it ASAP
