This project allows the user to explore the thought process behind adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers. Each side of the board can represent any integer number from -8 to +8. Red solders represent negative numbers. Blue solders represent positive numbers. Reset or the green flag: Sets up a sample problem. You can change the default problem by changing the code behind the button. Add: Changes the center symbol to a plus sign. Subtract: Changes the center symbol to a minus sign. The green triangles: Let you changes the left side number and change the right side number, by one up or down. Fight: This set the solders to fighting each other if they are on different sides. If they are on the same side, they just dance. If the problem needs to be re-formed then the robot will explain that. Results: Once the fighting or dancing is over there will be a certain number of solders of a given color left. Red solders represent negative numbers. Blue solders represent positive numbers. Count them quickly and make your guess. Then click the answer bot and he will tell you the correct answer.
