This game is much easier to understand if you have read the books, but reading the "EXPLANATION" section at the end of the instructions should set you up. _CONTROLS_ I might as well say strait off the bat that you must press T to toggle burning Tin and see through the mist (do this if you feel like you cannot see anything.) [A] and [D] to move left and right, [W] to jump [S] to attack (randomly uppercuts, stabs, or kicks) [2] to toss coins and Steelpush them at enemies [F] to access the chest (Complete restock) [Q] to drink a vial (You can only carry one extra) [M] for settings (X in top right of screen to close) [0] (zero) to reset your position You can click on achievement notifications to view all your current achievements. Press the X in the top right of the screen to close. _METALS_ (By far the best part) NOTICE: YOUR METALS WILL RUN OUT! THERE IS AN ALARM INDICATING THIS. Drink a vial ([Q]) to refill. If you run out of coins or metals, go open the chest at the beginning ([F]). The 8 variables on the top and bottom are your metals. You can turn on labels in the settings. [Click] 'fires' an Ironpull, This is basically the grapple, but you can only pull on pieces of metal (whitish spots on stage). Careful, if you run out of Iron while Pulling, you will fall [E] Drops a coin and Steelpushes off of it. This will launch you into the air. Hold E longer to arch higher. [Spacebar]a Burns Pewter. This makes you stronger, so you can run faster and jump higher. [T] THIS IS ESSENTIAL FOR PIERCING THE MIST. This increases your senses, so you can see through the mist cloaking everything. [C] Toggles your Coppercloud. This hides your Allomancy from Seekers and shields your mind, but in this game, it just makes your player slightly transparent (sorry to disappoint...but there isn't really a practical use here) [X] Allows you to watch for signs of Allomancy. You can see indicators for living enemies at the corner of the screen while doing this. (This works because the enemies are supposedly all Tineyes) [up cursor key (^)] Soothes with Brass. [down cursor key (v)] Riots with Zinc. Zinc and Brass both don't actually have an effect on enemies in this game. _EXPLANATION_ The dynamics of this game are inspired by the first book in the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. This will likely sound absurd, but I promise it isn't as strange as it appears. Characters in the book can 'Burn' metals they have swallowed while they lie in their stomach. Depending on the type of metal burned, specific abilities or enhancements are granted. Mistings can burn one of the eight basic Allomantic metals for the corresponding enhancement. Those who are Mistborn, however, can burn all eight (plus two high metals which are not featured). In this game, you play as a Mistborn. They are organised into sections of Physical/Metal, Internal/External, and Push/Pull to narrow it down to one of the eight metals. For example, Pewter, which enhances strength (basically), is a Physical Internal Push. Below are the effects of the eight basic Allomantic metals you can use within the game (although not all of them really have an effect.) Iron - Pulls on nearby metals Steel - Pushes on nearby metals Tin - Enhances your 5 main senses Pewter - Increases strength Brass - Soothes people's emotions Zinc - Riots people's emotions Copper - Conceals Allomancy and shields your emotions Bronze - Detects Allomancy This is a really poor explanation, but about the best I can do. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, even if you are not really a Fantasy Genre fan.
This game is still a little bit of a WIP, but entirely playable. For example, I may add music or more achievements in the future. Huge thanks to Brandon Sanderson for the epic books in the Mistborn series. Most thanks to @epninja for the original project & grapple physics. Thanks to @theChAOTiC for a few costumes. I realise now I didn't end up really using any of @radishboy's changes from the original, but kudos to him too for the good idea :) Pretty much all other art--not including the images in the thumbnail (although I edited them in Photoshop)--is by me.
