Adjust the sliders to control the Twist rate of the spiral. Up and Down let it swirl automatically. Space Bar pauses. Q auto-cycles from 0 twist. (Should take 15-20 minutes to complete.) (Slider details: Each slider controls a different set of decimal numbers. 0.56 on 0.XX and 0.79 on 0.00XX will result in a Turn Rate of 0.5679)
This was inspired by a Numberphile video. Dots are drawn at a steadily increasing radius, but shifted by a small fraction of a circle each time so that it twists around itself. You can watch how the dots come in and out of alignment. This lets you see how different values are closer or farther from rational numbers, and also looks very pretty and mesmerizing. Every 100th dot is marked black so that you can track its true motion.
