Here's my excerpt: I hear a toilet flush behind me, and I quickly shove my comb back into my pocket just as the man in the stall behind me comes out, looking like a model. Although I’m glad I don’t share any physical resemblance to him, I can’t deny that I envy him. I know that many of my female colleagues would rather speak to him than to me, no matter if he’s smart or not. His hair is greased back with something that could be olive oil itself, and is spiking up in little strands that have gotten so oily that they’ve stuck together. His chin is so pointy that you could probably cut a piece of bread with it, and his goatee ties up the entire egregious package. I turn away and when he isn’t looking, I scowl to myself, wondering how a man who gives off a rather terrifying vibe can get so far in his career. That excerpt was from my novel, "Pythagoras in China" about Pythagoras in the modern world and in China that I wrote in March. Enjoy!
