Controls in-game. It is very laggy. There are many projectiles and things happening, so I might be pushing scratch's frames to the limit. Sometimes the game crashes and it takes a couple of minutes to stop the project before my computer blows up. I'm not sure if I can finish the boss battle mechanism with how laggy it is, I might need a faster computer, it just is not able to process that many things happening at once, with how many variables it needs to keep track of and all of the scripts happening at one time. But I'm no technician or IT guy. I don't know what I'm talking about. Please leave feedback for future updates!!! Constructive criticism will be vital to improving game play! Until I get some feedback in the comments, I'll work on improving the AI. If there is absolutely anything you think I could improve on, just comment it! I usually check scratch daily, so I should respond to your comment within twenty-four hours. Show some support, and I'll work towards some updates! This is my first project involving AI (Artificial Intelligence), so it isn't very sophisticated. There is not too much to it right now, but if you want to see more added on, be sure to show some support! Hope you enjoy! Feel free to take some ideas from this project to create your own project with AI or anything else from this game! I'd appreciate if you'd give me credit, if you do so. Thanks!
Surprisingly, I made this on my own. Yay me! However, I received inspiration from StarWars and the book series called Illuminae, which is by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. There is a list of patch notes in the comments of past versions I couldn't fit in the description, but here are past versions, the current version, and possible future versions I could fit! V.1.1 -Contains a simple, one-dimensional platform for the movement of the ships. Only upwards and downwards movement. -No customization of ships. -A very simple AI, unable to shoot or anything other than dodge. Also unable to move around, only to move away from danger. -Single player only. -Blank background. V.1.2 -Added my best artwork ever of a background. It isn't that good, but considering my artistic abilities, that's about as good as it gets. V.1.3 -Minor bug fix with Player One's costumes. V.1.4 -The AI can now shoot back. It is shooting consistently, regardless of how close your ship is to it. V.1.5 -The AI's ship only shoots when you are relatively close. It cannot shoot you when you are at its same y-position. V.1.6 -AI can now shoot at you when your y-position is equal. V.1.7 -The AI now dodges just enough to avoid the blast, but it doesn't waste time doing unnecessary dodging. V.1.8 -Made the AI and player's ship's functions identical to insure equality. Ok, I didn't realize they weren't equal! V.1.9 -Allows WASD controls to be used as well as arrow keys. _____________________________________________ ~V.2.0~ In four days, we got to version 2! Two to three updates a day! WOOHOO! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-~Added 2 player mode!~- -~Added home page to select playing mode!~- _____________________________________________ V.2.1 -Made the home page more neat. V.2.2 -Added new homepage background V.2.3 -Re-skinned Player One's spaceship to fit the design of the dreadnought in the background. V.2.4 -Minor bug fix for Player One's costumes. V.2.5 -Updated Player One's Spaceship costumes. It is now far more accurate to the dreadnought in the background. V.2.6 -Added a title to the homepage! How did I forget about that in previous updates? *facepalm* -Minor bug fix with description of game mode. V.2.7 -Major bug fix where the AI didn't move far enough to dodge. -Minor bug fix of the AI moving faster upwards than downwards. -I made the speed of each of the spaceships equal because I didn't realize they were different. *another facepalm* V.2.8 -Adjusted the costumes of Player One's Spaceship to seem like it is actually turning when it moves by making the details match up better. V.2.9 -Major bug fix for shooting for Player Two. _____________________________________________ ~V.3.0~ In eight days, we got to version 3! Two to three updates a day! WOOHOO! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-~Added 2 player with powers mode!~- -~Re-skinned Player Two's and AI's spaceship to match the background!~- -~Minor bug fix with player modes description!~- -~Minor bug fix with Player One's costumes!~- -~Got rid of an unnecessary variable!~- _____________________________________________ V.3.1 -Minor bug fix with Player Two's costumes as well as the AI's costumes. V.3.2 -Added comments all over Player One's code, as well as Player Two's coding, AKA the Artificial Intelligence. V.3.3 -Fixed Player One's ability. I just got around to testing it when I realized it didn't even work -_- *facepalm*. On the bright side, this is the fourth update today! V.3.4 -Added comments to every script in both of the sprites that are lasers. I'm doing this to help anyone that wants to use this as a tutorial for their own game. V.3.5 -Minor bug fix on Artificial Intelligence's costumes that I thought I already fixed, but didn't. How am I doing? XD. V.3.6 -Added that big flashing sign that says NEW!!! on Two player with powers. It's pretty hard to miss... V.3.7 -Because of some in-person requests, I changed controls to up and down arrow keys, as well as W to go up and S to go down. A lot more logical, but for some computers, the up and down arrows are smaller than the left and right keys. V.3.8 -Added One Player Mode With Powers V.3.9 -Added more to the description of both Two Player modes. -Moved both Two Player buttons downwards to make more room for the descriptions. -Minor bug fix with AI's firing pattern. _____________________________________________ -~V.4.0~- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-~Coming Soon (maybe)~- _____________________________________________
