I just thought this was really beautiful. In the twenty first century, girls have more opportunities to be tomboys than ever. We can play sports, wear whatever we want, heck I even play baseball! But there are also a lot of cultural norms that people don't want to say are there, but they still are. Like girls are supposed to simply dress to impress guys, that they shouldn't try to be strong and independent, that they should wear jewelry and makeup and everything in between. I feel like that is a really sick and terrible notion. We should be who we want to be, act like we want to act, without other people dissing on us. Being independent is wonderful. Never buy into those cultural norms. Be who you want to be. If you like girly things, fine! Go do that! But don't be afraid to do so called boyish things just because you're a girl. If you just be who you want to be, you will be much happier.
