Thankfully, the highlands has been victim to another strange goop, which is coloured lime and seems to grow flowers with sentience, enabling them to fight back against the goop! Using this power, can the sentient flowers save the highlands and destroy all the corrupted flowers? Or will the strange purple goop kill all chances of life in the highlands eternally? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21/10/2020 Changed a few music tracks for certain levels. One of the Corrupturrets in level 8 can now shoot it's bullets! Improved plant death animations. Cursor now turns into a hand when stopping plants. Fixed fertiliser damage bonus not stopping when collecting it and then finishing a level. 18/10/2020 Improved the design of all levels! Crates have a snazzy new look. Fixed Fertiliser powerup being the wrong size. Petals now fade in when shot. Lowered the quality of some sound effects in order to be consistent with the game's foggy and muffled sound design. Redrew the faces of a few flowers. 15/07/2020 Added a title screen! A new sound effect for orange tulips being hurt. Fixed small bug involving the fertiliser powerup not disappearing upon entering a new level. 6/07/2020 Added a new powerup that doubles plant damage. Regular corrupted flowers now have an animation and sound effect for spitting. 21/05/2020 Spin speed of petals has been lowered/decreased for all plants. 8/05/2020 Added shading to all the plants, making them look a lot nicer. [ Like the game? Make sure to follow me if you do! ] Corrupt Vs Purity is a short experience, made as a nod to old, cruddy computer games from the 2000s. Created within only a few days, it's fairly short. Ultimately, I think Rider the Robber did a better job at nailing the style, but I'm still proud of this game overall. Still, I'd recommend checking out Rider the Robber too, as it's considerably faster, better-looking and much longer. INSTRUCTIONS: The goal of the game is to destroy all of the corrupted flowers, while not letting all of your flowers get knocked out. The corrupted flowers are in the purple area. It should be noted that the purple area is deadly to the touch, and will instantly kill any purity plant that touches it, so stay out of this area. The green area, on the other hand, is the Purity area. The strange goop that gives flowers sentience and where your plants are located. Click on one of your plants to control them. You can move using the WASD keys, and can shoot at an object by using the mouse. You can stop controlling a plant at any time, by clicking the plant again. They'll stay where you last controlled them. You can only control a single plant at a time. There are 4 plants in total: ___________________________________________ Red Tulip: Deals moderate damage. Moderate speed. Pink Tulip: Has the fastest speed in the game. However, they deal the least damage out of everyone. Blue Flower: Deals the highest damage in the game. They are extremely slow, however, and tend to be awful at dodging projectiles. Orange Tulip: Slightly less damage and speed than Red Tulip, but unlike all the other plants, they can withstand a hit, instead of dying instantly when hurt. ___________________________________________ There are also some obstacles that can help you: Crates serve as protection from attacks. They're able to block shots, and can prove helpful as barriers for you to hide near. In the later levels, you'll come across regular dynamite, as well as goo dynamite. Regular dynamite explodes when it comes into contact with a petal, and can damage both you and the evil plants, so remember to stand a fair distance away from it before you blow it up! Goo Dynamite, coloured lime, has a larger radius and the explosion lingers around much longer. Finally, the Fertiliser Pack doubles your damage for a short duration. It's quite rare, though. Anyway, onto the main goal here. Destroying the corrupted flowers. To defeat the corrupted flowers, you'll need to fire petals at them. When you've killed them, they'll explode into shards. The corrupted flowers will attack by throwing projectiles. Each type of corrupted plants attack differently. Either way, any contact with evil plants will kill a purity plant. There are 4 types of Corrupted plants: ___________________________________________ Regular: Only attacks when hit by a petal. Fires a moderately-fast shard towards the controlled plant. Mushroom: Fires 8 bullets in diagonal, horizontal and vertical directions. Unlike the other plants, they only take 1 damage from every hit, regardless of how much a certain plant does. Turret: Fires a cube bullet at the plant currently being controlled. They cannot fire if a plant is not being controlled. Bullet Spitter: Fires a cluster of bullets in random directions. They tend to do this quicker then any of the other plants. ___________________________________________ Once you've destroyed all the evil plants, you'll win the level, and be able to proceed to the next.
