About this Game & Makey Makey Set-up: This is a whack-a-mole style game, using frogs instead of moles. It was designed to be used with a Makey Makey (makeymakey.com), by connecting stuffed frog toys, to produce a tangible, more interactive game. A wiring diagram for the Makey Makey is provided within the game; just click the dragonfly after pressing the green flag. We use bean bag frogs that have been striped with conductive tape to connect to the Makey Makey, and "close the circuit" by having the player wear a conductive cuff. Instead of a cuff, you could also use a conductive mallet wired to "Earth." Rules & How to Play: Click the green flag, then push your Start Button (or space bar) to start the game. Whack the frog whenever it comes out of its hole (or keys W-A-S-D). You gain one point for every hit, but lose a point if you hit the incorrect frog, or the frog has already gone back into its hole. You win once you reach 20 points. Be on your toes -- the frogs may sometimes pop up for only half a second! Variations: - To change the winning score, edit the code under the "Scorekeeper" sprite. - To change the difficulty, change the "random" functions under each "XcolorX frog" sprite. Credits: This game was created for the TechReach program at the Austin Children's Museum, and showcased in the Makerspace at SXSWedu 2013. Some of the code was inspired by Scratch Community user jgjg1. Enjoy!! :)
