Hey guys! So I decided to enter this DTT in 2018, and a few weeks later I had completed the art. (So...still well over a year ago.) I decided I wanted to write some sort of story to go along with it, and it took awhile for me to get anything significant completed. I finally decided to share this, even though it's pretty old art and old [incomplete] writing. Hopefully you can still enjoy it a bit haha ^.^ ___________________________________________ STORY: Eons of time had passed between the creation of the worlds and this moment--millions of years of peaceful silence. Of course, Aliya argued with herself, there could be no sound in space. But whatever, she didn't let the thought interrupt her calm admiration of the view before her. The view was literally once in a lifetime. Perikoi's orbit took 1200 years to complete, and the rest of the time the Oort cloud blocked the view. It would only last a few nights. "Aliya, would you PLEASE come to dinner? It's not exactly getting warmer!" They'd arrived with their ship, the USS Helios, a few hours prior. Her brother hadn't been able to pull her away from the window since. "ALIYA!! Dinner is time sensitive, that window will be there for the rest of the trip!" She sighed and took dragging steps toward their dining hall. It was such a shame to be pulled away from the view when they had done so much to get there. ...... Aliya poked her head out from the hallway, looking both ways before hopping into the turbolift as though she really did belong there. Luckily she didn't have a companion. She took the time to tug on the intern shirt she had grabbed from the docking bay, and put her best I-totally-belong-here-no-matter-what-you-say face on. She stepped out of the lift when it stopped on the computer core's level. She reviewed her task, 'Board the USS Aquarius, assume the position of an intern and make your way towards the Main Computer Core. Once there, login using the preset intern code and manually enter Callum and herself as raffle winners.' It wasn't too glamorous, but it would win them the trip to Perikoi. Aliya walked confidently down the hallway, bright from the surrounding white paneling. The whirring of machines could be heard from all around her. She tried to walk confidently down the hall, and almost started as an officer took the hallway the opposite direction. She smiled coolly, and officer only nodded before looking back down at the screen in his hand. She thought of the map she had hastily tried to memorize. 'Turn left....', she looked but the adjacent hall ended in a dead end that said 'Beta Panel Control'. 'Okay,' she thought and kept walking. 'Now it'll be to my left.' And she was rewarded with larger doors that, in neat letters, read MAIN COMPUTER CORE. Officers in various ranked uniforms came in and out of the doors at a constant rate. She approached the door and slipped through it unobtrusively. 'Well, that went smoothly. Too smoothly.' Aliya surveyed the room, searching for a place where an intern wouldn't be questioned. When she spotted a group of similarly aged people, she approached them and went up to a panel. One of the interns to her right, a boy of perhaps 19 with brown eyes and dusty brown hair, glanced up as she logged into the panel. "You new?" "Uh, yes!!" Aliya nodded. "I was, er, transferred from Engineering," she tried to give him a cool smile. It failed. Badly. "Okay....." he raised an eyebrow and returned to his panel, slightly shaking his head in bewilderment. She turned back to her screen and sized it up. She tapped the icon in the upper-right hand corner and logged in, checking the ID on her stolen shirt. It read, "Kylie - 83552". The spinning pinwheel of doom made her stomach clench until it resolved and logged her into the console. That's when she realized how clueless she actually was about this whole thing. She fiddled around with the controls for a few minutes before clearing her throat and turning to the boy again. "So, how do you access the intern screen to access the database?" she asked. Then quickly added, "Because, in Engineering it's in the top right corner with the login, but that doesn't seem to toggle anything on this computer." He sighed and gave her a bored look. He moved over to her console, and pointed at the left hand side of the screen. A bar of icons stood there, and when she clicked on them they took her to different pages. Aliya blushed and nodded her thanks. She clicked on them all before finding the one she was looking for. She tapped her finger on the counter before remembering the password and entering it. She clicked enter with a satisfied 'Hah!'. Immediately the screen went blank and she panicked. The boy sighed and Aliya jumped from the closeness of the noise. "Who are you really? What are you doing here?" ___________________________________________ (Inactive) Host: (Decently [15 months. At least.] old) Art & Writing: Music: Starlights
