Calamari has never been a bad wilak. Calamari is, usually, a bored wilak. He may not be the smartest, though he's no dumb rock, but when he's bored, he starts to eat. Anything within reach, he'll eat it. His power has lent him to a certain disregard for personal safety when it comes to ingesting things, and finding him eating poisonous fish, frogs, plants, solid weapons, or even rocks is not uncommon, although his favorite meal is whole mussels, shells and all. Calamari went to prison once. It was after he, in a stroke of boredom, ate a part of the wall of the sector 4 castle he was guarding, that he got sent to serve time in a dungeon cell. Which he ate. Not out of malice or the goal of escaping and seeking revenge, just because he was incredibly bored. He was put back in a new cell, seemingly reinforced, and he ate his way out of that again. And then the royals gave up on putting him back in the dungeon. He apologized, of course, as he chewed on a piece of rotten food he'd found on the floor outside, but, regardless, Calamari was promptly re-trained as a knight instead of a guard so he would spend more time away from the castle. He's never complained about the situation, although he'll sigh and look vaguely upset when asked if he misses his old job, but this has only exposed Calamari to the wide ocean of flavors out on patrolling trips.
