||MILKSHAKE||| Reference Sheet Link: https://toyhou.se/4384363.king-milkshake#14803778 Backstory: Milkshake wasn't royalty, instead he was one of the knights, although he has always hated going into battle. Milkshake lost his father to scapers, and, during Hataki's reign, Milkshake himself was possessed by a scaper after following its light down a path he shouldn't have gone. Grim helped keep Milkshake from hurting too many while he was possessed until the soon-to-come dawn, and Milkshake grew fond of Grim after he was helped back to health, even if Milkshake never did get to see Grim after the scaper incident that rendered him blind. Milkshake always did know many wilaks, though, and when Grim joined the uprising against Hataki, Milkshake being known as a kindhearted wilak who wanted the best for everyone in the Sector was what got him and his husband put into power. Although Milkshake still loathes his blindness and broken horn from the scaper incident, Grim loves him against all odds, and Milkshake cares for Grim back, along with their adopted children, Hunt and Harvest. Milkshake is the king who does everything he can to keep the peace, both inside and outside the Sector. ||GRIM|| Reference Sheet link: https://toyhou.se/4384349.king-grim#14803747 Backstory: Grim was never royalty. Neither was his husband. Rather, Grim was a knight under former Queen Hitaki. He was raised to be a fighter and to spill blood, and Grim kept his disdain for the former queen to himself. After all, nobody talked back against Hitaki more than once. It was when Grim was fighting in battle alongside another knight--Milkshake, a feathered wilak--that Grim and his husband both met and connected. The knights were on the way to a fight when the cover of night let a scaper possess Milkshake. Grim successfully avoided the scaper's aggression, although another knight dropped under Milkshake's teeth and weight. Grim held Milkshake down only for a little while to give the other knights a head start in getting away from the scaper-possessed wilak, although Grim holding the scaper down led to him getting two long cuts across his chest in an X shape. When Milkshake finally collapsed at daybreak and the scaper left, Grim nursed him back to health enough that he could walk. Grim led Milkshake back to the city in Sector 7, where he was healed as best he could be, even though he was left blind and with weakened wings. When Milkshake was forced into working despite his blindness and lameness in his wings, Grim started to take interest in the uprising against Hataki. And, when Grim and Milkshake helped drive her out and help the other wilaks get her wings off, it was Grim's reputation as a loyal knight who'd always been against Hataki that got him voted in, along with help from Milkshake knowing many of the wilaks and having their trust. Now, Grim reinforces the laws of the Sector, but still clearly adores everyone in it.
||HUNT|| Reference Sheet Link: https://toyhou.se/4384385.prince-hunt#14865838 Backstory: Adopted at the age of 6, Hunt was brought home at the same time as Harvest. Hunt was brought in without being expected to live, he was sickly and seemingly fatally ill, but with the help of a few sages, Hunt survived, much to Milkshake and Grim's relief. Hunt idolizes his fathers, putting them on a pedestal higher than Lupus. Still, Hunt's aspirations to become the best king of all affected what he wanted from them. Hunt bothered his fathers until they let him go through the ritual to get powers and wings. And it succeeded! The prince who only had powers now had wings to match, and Hunt was more than delighted when it worked. He flaunted his wings for weeks on end, eyes full of innocent brightness. When his younger adopted sister, Harvest, tried the same process and it failed, though, Hunt let his wings drop. He kept them at his sides and tried to comfort her, even though she avoided him and cried whenever she heard his wings move or he used his power. Even now, when Harvest tries to avoid interacting with him for very long, Hunt does everything he can to make life easier for her, and adores her despite the rejection from Lupus. In fact, Lupus is a sour name in Hunt's mouth after what he did to Harvest, and Hunt dislikes the god quite a bit, though nowhere near as much as Harvest loathes the wilaks' gods. Hunt supports his sister throughout her struggles even when he has to do it indirectly, and at the same time, Hunt is letting his ambitions lead him on to a bright future being raised into the next king, and he looks forward to the day where he gets to do everything his fathers do. ||HARVEST|| Reference Sheet Link: coming soon Backstory: Adopted at the age of 4, Harvest was brought home at the same time as Hunt. However, unlike Hunt, Harvest was almost content to not have the doubled up trait of powers and wings. Harvest had her wings, and Hunt had his powers. But after Hunt bothered Grim and Milkshake to the point where they finally cracked and let him risk the ceremony to get wings and powers, after Hunt successfully gained wings to go with his powers, Harvest couldn't stand it. She's always been a little jealous, always wanting to match the capabilities of those she sees as equals, and she bothered Grim and Milkshake into letting her try to. It failed. Lupus rejected Harvest trying to get powers to go with her wings. He tore off her wings and scraped out her eyes. When Harvest came back to the living world, she cried until she threw up and passed out in her fathers' wings, even though being wrapped up in those wings just made her cry harder for her missing ones. Harvest was confused, the first few weeks after the incident, when she avoided Hunt just so she didn't have to acknowledge what she'd lost. Even talk of Lupus now makes her angry and upset, and she still bursts into tears when she remembers that the last thing she saw was the god that she was told was supposed to protect the Sectors, reaching to claw out her eyes. Harvest hates Lupus more than a child should be capable of hating anyone, and she avoids anyone who gives high praise to him. Harvest never shares her experience with anyone outside her family. Not yet, at least. It still makes her too upset. Who knows what will become of her hatred in a few years, though? She's certainly learning how to cope without eyes. Without powers and wings, too, even. Harvest has taken to manipulating strangers into doing what she wants, and the things she uses that manipulation for will only get worse as she gets older.
