Thing was abandoned on the streets as a young pup, his parents unable to care him any longer. For days he wandered the slums, alone and terrified, hoping to find a home. It was Shady who found him first. Thing was too young to understand that this Wilak wasn't to be trusted. He was so very tired and lonely. And he let the older Wilak take him to the black market. At first it wasn't so bad. He had food and shelter. There were even some other children that came and went through Shady's shop. But they all left in due time, and Thing remained in the shop. Each day wearing his young mind away. Shady's apathy towards Thing slowly started to break him. Countless nights kept awake by terrifying noises and sights the shopkeeper didn't care to shield the young Wilak from led to an unstoppable and severe fear of the dark and being alone. And with Shady being the only one who would never leave, Thing became attached, clinging to the source of all of tortures. Clinging for dear life. Thing is terrified of being sold away. In a twisted way, he sees Shady as a father, although he returns no such feelings. The shop has been his home for most of his life. His crooked, horrible home. And he intends to stay there forever.
