yes I know the capitalization is weird word count: 589 republic of chairs and other objects the republic of chairs and other objects, also known as the acoo (pronunciation Uh-Koo) -don’t ask my why there’s an "a" when republic starts with "r"- is a 386.7892618957632 acre planet consisting of many different cultures. The dominant object is a chair, as the name suggests. Chairs make up 58.1% of the population, and since there are exactly 100 objects, 58.1 objects are chairs. How can you have 0.1 of a chair, you may ask? Well, just like us human you can have two objects make another object that is both of the objects combined. So one little object has 1/10th chair heritage and 9/10 of other ancestries. Here is some background of each of the 3 objects from most dominant to least: CHAIRS: like stated before, there are 58.1 chairs in accco. 51.7 of them are of common plastic chair decent, and one of them the rare chestnut wood. The chestnut wood chairs have died off over the past couple years, and this chair is the last pure one, but another chair that is 0.5 chestnut wood is soon to come. Although there are many types of chairs, (although in acoo there are only two) they all speak the same language: seat. seat is a fairly easy language to learn, although reading and writing seat requires much focus. even for the chairs that have been around for a long time sometimes struggle with writing in seat. the academy for chairs has just released a new curriculum that is said to help young chairs learn seat much more efficiently. now, although the language of chairs is quite easy to learn, the culture is very complicated. chairs were first created by people long ago, when someone had the longing to sit without doing it on the ground. this person’s name was dr. edward p. chair. after many models, he made the first chair, out of wood -- it is yet to be discovered what type of wood the first chair was. FERRULE (the metal part that connects the pencil to the eraser): this small object makes up 24 percent of the population. Most of these are children as in the past years there has been a spike in ferrule births. many of these metal parts often go on vacation to the penser, which is the place that most of the pencils and erasers live. these little ferrules fit in perfectly with the penser community, and many have even been said to move there. when a pencil, eraser, and ferrule make a special bond, they will go into the human world for a person to use. this happens hundreds of times every day (one trio gets sent into the world every day from each city) all of these three objects cannot speak, but work together to write out their words. many of them also have a gift for learning so take into either seat or mug. ZARF (the cardboard circle-y thing that you put around hot cups): speaking of mug, that is what all of the zarfs of acoo speak. this object only take up 17.9 percent of the population, which is the least out of all three species. there has been a decrease of zarfs starting five years ago, and this is probably due to the number of new ways to hold a hot mug and increased use of reusable cups. another factor is the season. during what humans call summer time, there is less need for zarf, which results in a population decrease.
