Name: Vivitia Gender: Female Species: Cat (I think) Backstory: The day the lights went out, Vivitia's human hit his head. He went down like a rock and didn't get up--which was very worrying. She padded over the cold stone floor to him and licked his hand. He didn't stir. She understood what death was, and smelled the metallic scent of fresh blood. Pawing at her nose, she turned around and ran out of the house, emerging into a world just as dark, if not more, as the house. Even the sun did not shine, and this scared her more than anything else. Her bodily clock was telling her it was afternoon, and the sun should be shining high above her. Vivitia decided to look around, her eyes slowly growing accustomed to the oppressive darkness. Soon she found a stray dog huddling near the side of the road, shivering from the cold. She saw that his fur was matted and short, almost completely gone in some places. She felt pity for him, having long, thick fur herself, and nudged him gently with her nose. He looked up at her, and slowly stood. She looked behind him and realized that he had been next to a ball of glowing string--neon lights, like the kind her human used to put up for holidays. She leaned down and picked up the ball in her mouth, and the dog looked at her warily. This had been his ball, and he had presumably been using it for a light. She carefully took the end in her teeth and began walking around the dog, wrapping it around his limbs and tail. She bit the end off and surveyed her work. The dog now gave off a glow, lighting the way so they both could see. She offered the ball to the dog, and he did the same to her. He then gently held the ball in his mouth and they walked along the dark city streets, looking for someone, anyone, to help them light their way. *sorry about the art being a bit bad quality*
