Henry Carter (Official: Carter - Moore, explanation in notes) Male 14 Family: Sadie Carter (Official: Carter - Moore) (sister) Female 12 Sara Carter Female 36 Lucy (Dog) Female 7 (human years) Friends: Evelyn Reid Female 13 Merely friends with drama kids, basketball kids, soccer kids, and some football kids. Henry has brownish-black hair, brown eyes, and freckles. He is very popular and sociable. He plays tons of sports, participates in theatre, and plays guitar. He is super smart and loved by all his teachers. In his free time at school, he helps his teachers and classmates with things. He wears a random tee-shirt, a matching plaid shirt that he wears like a jacket, jeans, and sneakers. When he's at home, he doesn't play a bunch of video games like other kids. He helps his single mom make dinner and do the laundry while also looking after his little sister, Sadie. He doesn't tell anyone about his home situation. His mom works at the hospital so they do get a good pay but they don't get to spend a lot of time with her. Henry and Sadie like to play with their dog, Lucy. Lucy is an average sized dog that loves to run around a lot or sleep a lot, depending on Henry and Sadie's mood. She is a very understanding dog and was trained to become a service dog before Henry's family got her. They love Lucy to death! They got Lucy because of Henry's anxiety, another thing that Henry doesn't tell anyone about. He hasn't had any anxiety attacks lately, but he has some before plays and some really big tests at school. His friend, Evelyn, helps him get through them. Before a play or test when he looks like he is going to have an anxiety attack, Evelyn tells him he is okay and that there is no reason to worry about it and he will be fine. Evelyn is the only person Henry can tell anything to. No warning, no goodbye, he just was... gone. Maybe you could count their fight a warning. Or how he never put his drink down. I wish I could do something to bring him back, but I don't think that would go well with my mom. My dad came home one night, late. It was around four AM and I couldn't sleep. My mom was waiting for my dad in the living room to give him the /look/. My dad tried to apologize but my mom just yelled at him. Sadie woke up and poked her head out of her room and into the hallway. I could see her through the crack in my door. I got up, grabbed a sleeping bag, and went to go sleep with her so she wouldn't be frightened. She was able to go to sleep but I just lay there staring at the ceiling and hearing shouts. I was hoping I wouldn't get an anxiety attack but I wasn't sure so I went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water. When my parents saw me, they just turned on the television and sat on couch, pouting. I went back to bed. There were more shouts, then a loud noise, and a scream short after. I didn't hear more shouts, but my mom came into Sadie's room and asked me if she could sleep in my bed tonight. The next morning, my dad was gone. He must've packed his stuff last night, along with a few water bottles, some granola bars, and twenty bucks. My dad never even talked to me that night, and he hasn't called or ask if we could come to his place. I sort of feel as if his actions and words were just a result of his drink, but I'll never know because he wasn't anywhere without it. I miss him, but I want my family to be safe. 1 more thing! Henry has a crush on Evelyn but doesn't want to admit because he thinks Evelyn might not feel the same way. Thinking about it gives him anxiety so he tries not to think about it and never brings it up.
Henry got anxiety at age 7. His parents also got him Lucy, their dog, to distract him so he didn't have so many anxiety attacks. Sadie, Henry's younger sister, was only one years old when Henry got anxiety and so she just always knew Henry to be anxious and learned to play around it. He met Evelyn when he was 6 on the playground in kindergarten. Henry kept turning around and breathing heavily when he couldn't find his teacher to go back inside. Evelyn ran to him, grabbed his hand, ad pulled them to their teacher's line. Then, they just kind of clicked. Now, for his home life. He often made the meals, did the laundry, and cared for Sadie. This was because his mom spent a lot of time at the hospital to earn more money. His dad worked at a paper company (classic) and he should've been at home around 5:00 or so, but when he got home, he would change and then head out again to go to a night club or something. This got on Henry's mom's nerves a lot because his dad wasn't watching after him and his sister. One night, when Henry was about 13, his dad came home, a bit wonky from drugs. His dad slapped his mother and that was the last straw. His dad left that night. A week or so after, their parents got a divorce. This only piled on Henry's anxiety. He got more anxiety attacks and had to cut down on some of the activities he did so he wouldn't get overworked. Now he just does Drama, Basketball, and Soccer. He also taught himself how to play the guitar. When he has nothing to do, he just plays his guitar to take his mind off things. Sometimes he will try to play a new song but he takes it slow so he won't get an anxiety attack. His mom doesn't let him play video games or watch sports on tv in fear that he might get another anxiety attack from it. Henry doesn't really care. Sadie decided to not do those things either so that Henry wouldn't feel left out. People would think that Henry doesn't have trouble at school, but they'd be wrong. Sure, he gets good grades, is loved by his teachers, and everyone likes him. But, he has a hard time hiding his anxiety. Only Evelyn, his family, and his principal know about it. He told his principal not to tell the teachers about it because he didn't want the teachers to pity him. He requested for Evelyn to be in all of his classes so he had someone to keep in calm. The principal only told the teachers that Henry and Evelyn were aloud to whisper to each other in class and they should be able to leave the class at any time. The teachers didn't ask any questions. Henry didn't want to use that help because he thought the other kids would get angry and think something is up. Instead, he had Evelyn give him a stern nod whenever he looked like he was about to have an attack, and that would tell him to raise his hand to go get a drink of water from the fountain. It usually worked and Henry appreciated the help from Evelyn. In return for all of Evelyn's help, Henry would make sure that she never got to the bottom of Human Chain of Popularity. Evelyn would usually ride her bike with Henry to his house and they would work on homework together. After homework, they would play with Lucy for a bit and then she had to go home because of her early curfew. When she left, Henry would start his chores. Sadie would help too. She would start the laundry and wash fruits and vegetables. Henry never let her help with raw meat and cutting. He promised he would teach her when she was 10, though. Sadie also took care of Lucy when Henry was working and she had nothing else to do. (I'll make another project for Sadie and Evelyn soon.) The reason why they go by Carter and not Carter - Moore (Moore was their dad's last name) is because they don't live with their dad and aren't in contact with them so they just go by their mom's last name.
